Interactive Sites

Interactive sites are where the user has to fill in the information by clicking on the bottoms using the mouse and keyboard into a form, registration form or application form for e.g. booking a holiday in ryanair online, to buy something from online shops

The main thing about interactive sites is to use a form which is a way of capturing personal information such as bank details, order details etc. the personal information is being stored on server which being attach to the website.

Now I am going to give some examples of the interactive sites and how they are used.

The first example of the interactive sites is the social networking sites such as bebo, twitter, Face book.

Face book:

Before the new user wants to enter to the face book account he must fill in the form which will ask his name and surname and email, create the password and username, then after that he will have to confirm his email and when the email is confirm he now has the new account on face book.

The face book registration form is interactive because the user is able to use keyboard and mouse, click on the bottoms, and choose from the drop down list.

In face book the user can communicate with other people by sending messages, photos, videos, chatting on camera, play games together such as farm vile etc, leave comments on each others feeds, pictures and videos.

The face book game page is interactive because the user is able to add his friends and family members as neighbors, visit to their game house, farm etc. by only clicking on their photo picture using the mouse. also when the user is playing face book games he can only use keyboard and mouse , and also in this game as a example the user is able to build the land , houses, trees etc only using the computer mouse

The user on face book are able to upload the photos, videos, share feeds, leave comments, play free face book games, see other people comments and read what they say.

Also when the user is playing games he is able to send the gifts to his friends, family.

The user it’s also able to edit, view his profile and profile details he can even change his username and password by editing the profile account form. Also the business s who wants to advertise their products they are able to do it on face book by creating a group page etc or just posting on other groups for free.

A lot of people have face book because they want to keep in touch with their friends and family members no matter where they are and where they live, play games, see photos and videos of their friends and family members.

Online Gaming

 

Also there is other websites where the user can interact such as game website like, cbbc where the kids can play free games by only clicking a computer mouse and keyboard. Here is the print screen of cbbc:

The kids are able to choose the game they want from the cbbc site by only using the mouse for e.g.

I have chose this game as a example, in this game the user can interact by using the keyboard and mouse when he is playing the game , also the user before actually playing this game he can click on practice bottom and practice the game .

The purpose of using the interactive game websites such as CBBC it can educational for the small kids who wants to learn their first steps how to play computer , in the CBBC site when the kid choose the bottom the computer says words and it’s good thing especially if the kids doesn’t know how to read the words . Some of the CBBC games required both keyboard and mouse to play the game.

There are other online games available for bigger children, teenagers and adults. But most of these games are just to pass time, meet new people but also there is some educational games too websites such as mymaths.com

Also the background of the CBBC website can really attract the kid attentions because it looks colorful and it really matches to the bottoms and games.

Every time the kids’ clicks on game which they want to play, different back ground shows up so it makes more interesting, also the top bottoms and text are clear enough to see and read

The educational game websites are most often is being used by primary schools, schools and colleges for students.

The example of the educational website I have chose the Mymaths.co.uk  in this website the user is able to use both keyboard and mouse, the main thing what is interactive about this website is that the user will have to use mouse to move and click and use keyboard to enter the information such as login and password

Online shopping

The other different interactive website is the online shopping websites such as Argos, Amazon and eBay.

In online shopping the user are able to purchase the items from these sites, also the user when purchasing item he must enter his bank details and his personal details such as home address , first name and surname etc. but before the items is being purchased the user has to register with the online shopping website here is the example sign up form on eBay:

The main interactive thing about filling the registration form is that user is able to use keyboard for typing and mouse for moving and clicking. After the user will fill in the form he will send his personal details to the EBay by only pressing the ‘’Submit ‘’ bottom using the mouse

When the user wants to purchase the item he must enter the items name on the eBay search bar using the computer mouse and keyboard:

The online shopping websites are interactive because the users are able to use keyboard and mouse both at the same time and click on boxes and text. A lot of people user online shopping these days to purchase the items which cannot purchase at shop, the people live far away from the shop or bad weather etc.

These days it’s easy to use online shopping sites because the user can purchase the items online from the seller who might live in different country too.

But if the user wants to purchase the item he has to enter his bank details such as debit/credit card or just PayPal information:

Video websites

 

The other interactive website is video websites such as YouTube. The video websites are interactive because the user are able to watch the video clips, movies, leave comments, upload their own videos or music clips, send messages to the other members and on YouTube the user are able to leave a comment even in the other users profile.

The user are able to watch videos on YouTube with out register to the YouTube but if he wants to upload  the video , leave comments and chat with other members he must register with the YouTube. Here is the example of the YouTube registration form, when filling the YouTube registration form the user has to fill in the Google registration form too:

The main interactive thing about the filling the registration Google form is that user will have to click on the boxes using the computer mouse and type the details using the keyboard. Also using the mouse the user will have to choose from the drop down list. After he will finish the registration form he can press enter to finish registration form.

When the user wants to leave a comment under the video he has to press on sign in:

            Also the user is able to like or dislike the video, by just simply click with mouse:

If the user wants to upload his own video the user will have to click upload bottom on the top of the page:

Then he is able to select the files for upload, and upload the video which he wants.

Also the user is able to send and receive the messages from other users, by going to his profile and the click on Inbox. The message section on YouTube looks like this:

Also the user is able to leave comments on the other users channel by clicking on the users name and entering to the user’s profile:

The YouTube website is interactive because the user has to fill in the form when he is register with the YouTube , and fill in the form when he is sign in to the YouTube. Also the user is able to leave comments, upload videos, leave some comments on his own channel, and subscribe to the other users.

The YouTube is attractive websites because a lot of people these days use YouTube to watch the videos and upload their own videos. The YouTube is the most popular video website and can attract a lot of audience attentions
