How to connect to the internet securely?

there is a lot of different ways how you can connect to the internet securely , in this assignment part i am going to explain to you how to connect to the internet securely.

Having internet connection on all the time it might be good idea but these days there is a lot of hackers online who can access to your computer via IP address.

the most important thing is to turn off file sharing and don't share any details and files with other strangers in the internet also you have to turn off some things from outside the computer such as disk drivers and printers.


Personal firewall : almost all computers do contain firewall program, it's important to keep firewall program on to protect the computer because it will help to protect your computer from unwanted viruses and hackers.

LAN and hardware firewalls:  if you have a LAN and use NAT (Network Address Translation) software you can run the firewall automaticly with NAT and this will protect your other machines which associates with your computer

anti-virus software: is important to have anti virus software installated in your computer to protect your computer from viruses, bugs, worms, spam, trojans which can be downloaded from the internet files/emails and spam. the other thing is important to avoid downloading any files/folders and email attachments from the internet especially from the people which you don't know as these files can harm your computer.

Proxy Server

a proxy server send/receive the request something from someone to someone else different. here the example of image of the proxy server:




There is a lot of different types of PROXY servers available for e.g. forward proxies, open porxies, reverser proxies and performance enhancing proxies. all the proxies do have some how information between web server and internet in many different ways.

Routers

a router is the type of  hardware device which forwards data packets between the computer networks also the router is connected two or more data lines from the different types of networks.

a lot of Home networks do use wireless or wired internet protocol (IP) router, the IP is the most common in OSI layer protocol.

also router is able to take multiple communication devices such as laptop, printer and desktop computers. also the Router allows these communication devices to connect together into single network so it means that they all will be able to communicate with each other.

ISP ( Internet Service Provider )

 is an Internet service provider which provides us an internet service and connection for e.g. BT, SKY and Talk Talk. If the user wants to get on to the internet they need to purchase a from the internet service provider and have the phone line and then the internet service provider will send you a software disc & ISP password and the router, the software disc you will have to install into your computer and router must be connected to the phone line and to the computer (if its wired), after the installation of the software the user might have to enter the ISP password as the computer might ask it so then the user will unlock the connection to the internet .there is different types of router wireless and wired. When the software disc is installated into the computer & and the ISP password is entered correctly and the router is on and connected to the computer and phone line then the user can use the internet when the actual phone line and internet service is active/on.




ISP can be connected not only into the computers if the ISP is wireless it can be connected to the for e.g. phones, game consoles and to the other devices which has a wireless connection in it.

Web Hosting service

web hosting service is the type of internet hosting service which can allow bussiness, companies etc. to make their own website being accessible throught out the world via world wide web. web host are the companies which provides space on the server which is owned by the their clients. Web host service also can provide data centre space which is called colocation .

Domain Structure

 

Domain structure is the text based name for the given website, also every domain name has IP address linked too. the IP address is made of the numbers , usually the computer cannot recognise the website name/link , so the website Link is being covered from the text to the numbers which is makes for the computer to understand easily.

There can be only one domain structure for e.g. www.amazon.co.uk on the internet websites. also the domain names are broken into the 3 different levels

the top level of the domain name is a single words for e.g .com , .info, .net, .org. also these can be the country codes too such as .lt, .co.uk, .com etc. there are a lot of domain names which does end with .com and .co.uk

the 2th level of the domain name is in the UK are which can indentify the type of orginasation such as for e.g. company has .co and gov stands for the government.
